Winners of the 2021 BAFTA Games Awards

The 2021 BAFTA Games awards for the best games of 2020 wrapped up this week, so here is a summary of all the awardees.

This is the second year in a row that the BAFTA (British Academy) awards ceremony has been held exclusively online due to COVID.

Hades took the top spot, achieving the title of Best Game overall as well as Best Artistic Achievement, Best Game Design and Best Narrative, with Logan Cunningham winning Best Supporting Role for his various parts in the game.

The Last of Us Part II also won big on Thursday, winning both the EE Game of the Year and Best in Animation, as well as Laura Bailey winning Best Performer in a Leading Role for her role as Ellie.

LittleBigPlanet spinoff Sackboy: A Big Adventure took the top spot in Best Family and Best British Game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons won the titles of Best Multiplayer Game as well as the Best Game Beyond Entertainment.

Other winners include pixel-horror Carrion for Best Debut Game, open-world game Ghost of Tsushima for Best Audio Achievement, pirate game Sea of Thieves for Best Evolving Game, Marvel's Spider Man for Best Music, game engine Dreams for Best Technical Achievement, and point-and-click Kentucky Route Zero for Best Original Property.

The runners-up for the title of overall Best Game include Half-Life: Alyx, The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, all of which were also runners-up for Best Game Design.
