A new content update has been released for Reforj this week – Title Update 5. Headline features include multiplayer and updates to the game's progression system. Let's have a dive into all of the changes that came this week.

First – what is Reforj? Reforj is a sandbox game being developed by 4J Studios, the developer behind the popular original console ports of Minecraft. The game is being playtested on Xbox Series X & S for select users.

The biggest and much awaited feature included in TU5 is multiplayer. Players can invite up to 4 friends to join their worlds. These friends need not already be part of the playtest, as using a their referral code will grant you access to the game (within 24 working hours).

To make sure players can tell each other apart, 4J also added 15 new player skins for you to select from.

TU5 also makes some important changes to the game's progression system. Your crucial and handy tool, the Mining Bracer, now has two extra upgrades: levels 4 and 5.

Certain abilities, like being able to break blocks 3 at a time, are now locked behind that new 4th bracer level.

A new tool, which allows you to throw you held block or item, is also locked behind bracer level 4.

In order to obtain these new bracer upgrades, you will need to find a new ore: vertium, found in snowy areas. It drop must be smelted into a fiber before being usable in the bracer upgrade recipe.

Three new mobs have also come to the game:

  • The Nightbloom: While passive at day, it blooms at night and attacks the player from a stationary position, shooting harmful spores in all horizontal directions.
  • The Skimmer: a harmless aquatic creature which drops its shell when beached.
  • The Butterfly: a decorative cosmetic entity that flies through the skies.

A whole slew of decorative elements have also been added.

The new Lumenstone, available only in Creative, comes in 24 colours, and emits coloured light of differing intensities.

Doors have been added, which come in every variant of wood. Likewise, tables and stools now also have variants per wood type. Cushion and potted plants have also come along for the ride.

Some new plants can now be found in the world. Silkthistle in deserts drops silk, and deep root in caves drops sticks.

Once you've ventured out and obtained all of the above new features, you will now be able to craft a new upgrade, the Improved Wingsuit. This allows you to fly further and faster.

Other changes include replacing amethyst with magnetite and renaming all of the different wood types, just to keep you on your toes.
